A physically challenged girl of 17 was raped at a jute field at Chhota Mandartla village of bordering Sharsha upazila in Jessore on Sunday evening.
The police arrested Raju Ahmed,38, son in-law of Nazrul Islam of Chhota Mandartla village who is also son of Late Mir Ibrahim Hossain of Sitarampur village under Jessore upazila in this connection. Sub inspector Murad Hossain of Sharsha police station told that the police arrested the rapist Raju after a case was filed with the police station by the brother of the victim.
Locals told that Raju fled the scene as locals rushed to the spot while he was raping the physically challenged girl kidnapping her from the yard of her residence in the evening of Sunday.
