Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra walks down the memory lane, mirrors her mistakes and talks unequivocally about her position as an artist. She has been utterly outspoken about the mid career hiatus she confronted which materialised after her promising debut film, Ishaqzaade in the year 2012.
After appearing in three consecutive films this year, Parineeti reflected light upon the mistakes she once made, admitting to be in pursuit of money and constantly abusing her position as an artist. She often indicated to people rather insisting upon the release of ‘mediocre’ films, deflecting her vision and making her engage in retrogressive industrial needs.
In an Interview with Filmfare, Parineeti insisted upon receiving frequent wishes from around the industry to choose films that didn’t sit well with her. They often mentioned, “You need to be a people person and tempt the mob with provocation. You need to feature in songs, and put on a romantic encounter with the protagonist. Learning how to be a heroine should be the ultimate goal.”
She admitted to “chasing money and mistimed fame,” which led to a steep plunge of her career. However, she does not regret starring in any of her films, even with a shuddering backdrop.
“I was likely to lead my way with severe complacency, becoming less and less focused. It ensued the fall of my career. It was one reason why I was instructed to follow the mediocre line of cinema. I was never fully confident in myself. When you fail in five consecutive movies, people often mock your presence, saying that you really don’t have the required amount of zeal. But, in reality, it was only five bad decisions, not the end of the career,” the actress mentioned. -Agency
