BD Adibashi Chhatra Sangram Parishad
A rally organised jointly by different organisations including Bangladesh Adibashi Chhatra Sangram Parishad and Bangladesh Adibashi Nari Network was held in front of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbag on Friday. In the programme the leaders of the organisations demanded to stop illegal lifting of stone from Bandarban Parbatya area. They also demanded to stop lifting of sand from different areas in Sherpur. The leaders urged the authority concerned to take necessary step against this illegal activities for the greater interest of the nation.
Bhejal O Madakbirodhi Andolon
A discussion on ‘Safe Food and Our Responsibility’ organised by ‘Bhejal O Madakbirodhi Andolon’ was held at the Jatiya Press Club. Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Nasim said maximum punishment for food adulteration should be death penalty as food adulterators are the biggest “terrorists”. He said social movement should be waged against food adulteration as it is not possible for the government solely to ensure safe food for all. Nasim also urged BNP not to wage anti-people movement rather to wage movement against food adulteration and abuse of drug. The function was also addressed, among others, by JSD President Hasanul Haq Inu, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua and Gono Azadi League President SK Shikder. President of the organisation Ata Ullah Khan presided over the event.
