Sammilita Muktijoddha Foundation
A rally organised by Jatiya Sammilita Muktijoddha Foundation was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held on Sunday the leaders of the foundation demanded Taka thirty five thousand as monthly allowance for each freedom fighter. They also demanded constitutional recognition to all freedom fighters. The function was addressed, among others, by Adviser of the foundation Shafi Uddin Bhuiyan, its Senior Vice-President Abdur Rashid, Organising Secretary Kazi Abdul Mujim Santu and its Finance Secretary Abdul Baten. Secretary General of the foundation, Freedom Fighter GK Babul Chisti presided over the event.
Peasants-Labourers Movement Council
A rally organised by Peasants-Labourers Movement Council was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club to meet its various demands including adequate compensation to the affected farmers caused by cyclonic storm ‘Fani’. In the programme held recently the leaders of the council also demanded fair price of their products including paddy to maintain their livelihoods properly. They called upon all the farmers to be united to press home their demands. Coordinator of the council Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan presided over the event. The function was addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Krishak Samity SMA Sabur, President of Khetmajur Union Saiful Haque, Assistant General Secretary of Bangladesh Khetmajur Samity Arnab Sarker and President of Samajtantrik Krishak Front Alamgir Hossain Dulal.
