People Friendship Foundation
A discussion and Iftar party organised for the destitute and disabled people by People Friendship Foundation was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the city’s Topkhana Road. In the programme held on the sixteenth instant the speakers urged the government to take special care for the disabled and distressed people. The function was addressed, among others, by Chief Adviser and Coordinator of the foundation Gazi Mostafizur Rahman, Freedom Fighter Prof Asaduzzaman, DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur and Director of the foundation Hamida Khatun Shelly. Founder Chairman of the organisation Nazmul Hossain presided over the event.
Sampriti Bangladesh
Sampriti Bangladesh, a platform working to promote secularism, at a press conference denied any link of the organisation with an advertisement on ‘identification of terrorists’ that was published in different national newspapers on May 12 and went viral on social media. “We have noticed that an ill attempt was made to mislead the country’s innocent people by spreading false information about Sampriti Bangladesh over advertising on identification of terrorists in different newspapers,” Convener of the organisation Pijush Bandyopadhyay told a press conference on Thursday at the Jatiya Press Club. Pijush said the confusion that was created centering the advertisement is unexpected and perplexing. The function was also attended, among others, by Member Secretary of the organisation Mamun Al Mahtab Swapnil, Secretary General of the Christian Association Bangladesh William Proloy Samadder and former Secretary of Cultural Affairs Ministry Nasir Uddin Ahmed.
