Communist Party of Bangladesh
A rally organised by Communist Party of Bangladesh was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday. In the programme the speakers called upon all to be united to root out misrule and save democracy. They also called upon the party leaders and workers to forge movement unitedly for fair, participatory, impartial and acceptable elections. The speakers stressed to root out misrule for the establishment of people’s voting rights. The function was addressed, among others by General Secretary of the organisation Mohammad Shah Alam, members of its central committee Advocate Mantu Ghosh and Dr Sajedul Haque Rubel. The function was also attended, among others, by CPB presidium members Laxmi Chakrabarty, Shahin Rahman and Aniruddha Das Anjan. President of the party Mujahidul Islam Selim presided over the event.
History Research Center
A seminar on ‘Migrants to Refugees to Contestants: Quest for New Identities on Both Sides of Bengal Borderlands’ organised by History Research Center was held at RC Majumder Arts Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of DU Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad was present as the chief guest at the programme held recently. While speaking the speakers urged the history researchers to research history more and reach the outcome of their research works to the doorsteps of the common people including new generation for uplift.
