Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
A rally organised by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on the 16th instant in protest against the killing of Mashuk Ferdous, son of a JSD leader. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present at the rally as the chief guest. While speaking Inu said that there should be a zero-tolerance policy towards child oppressors, like the one adopted against miltants. It may be mentioned that Mashuk, son of JSD leader, Emdadul Haq, was killed in Bogra recently after being called from his residence. Police is investigating into the murder. Inu said that child repressors should be taken to task like militants. The minister urged all to be united to eliminate militants from the soil.
Bangladesh Chhatra League
A discussion marking the Homecoming Day of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina organised by DU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was held at TSC of Dhaka University. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was present as the chief guest. While speaking Quader said BNP can’t come out of negative politics still now.”We will understand that BNP is on the right track if they do politics following the vision of Awami League,” he added. In response to the remarks of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that BNP has made a turnaround after declaration of ‘Vision 2030’, Quader said, “BNP has made such a turnaround that their leaders and workers took stand against themselves”. He said BNP leaders and workers now get locked into infighting and clash in presence of central leaders at rallies and discussions. He said after completion of the Padma bridge construction, the government will begin work of the second Padma bridge at Paturia-Douladia point. The function was also addressed, among others, by BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag, its General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain and DU unit of BCL General Secretary Motahar Hossain Prince. President of BCL, DU unit Abid Al Hasan presided over the event.
