Awami Muktijoddha Projanmo League
A discussion marking 9th founding anniversary of Awami Muktijoddha Projanmo League was held at its office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue. Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan sought the trial of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at special tribunal for her alleged role in ‘patronising the petrol bomb and arson attack’ in 2014 and 2015. “The killings of innocent people by hurling petrol bomb in Bangladesh were very heinous acts. There is no example of such inhumane acts in politics of the world,” he told.
He said if trial is not held in the incident, good governance would not be established in the country. About the electricity generation, Hasan said if BNP was in power, no power plant would have been established let alone Rampal Power Plant. President of Awami Muktijoddha Projanmo League Asaduzzaman Durjoy presided over the programme.
Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute
A training programme on ‘Farming Native Chickens: Advanced Technology’ organised by Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) was held recently at Bangabandhu Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development Academy at Kotalipra in Gopalganj. State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda was present as the chief guest. While speaking Narayan called upon all to be united to root out militancy and terrorism from the country. “We all -Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians – have been affected by the militant and terrorist activities across the country. We have to build mass resistance against the menace,” he told. Terming the militants as a small group, the State Minister said there is no room for the militants and terrorists in the country which practice communal harmony for long. Later, he distributed chickens among the 50 farmers of Kotalipara Upazila. The programme was addressed, among others, by Kotalipara Upazila Chairman Majibur Rahman Hawladar and upazila unit of Awami League General Secretary SM Humayun Kabir. BLRI Director General Dr Talukdar Nurunnahar presided over the event.
