Bangladesh Nationalist Cultural Party
A discussion and cultural function on 80th birth anniversary of Shahid President Ziaur Rahman organised by Bangladesh Nationalist Cultural Party was held in the Hall Room of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday with its General Secretary Humayu Kabir Bepari in the chair. BNP Standing Committee member Lt Gen (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman was present as the chief guest. While speaking Mahbubur Rahman said that perception of liberation war and democracy now razed to the ground. He called upon all to be united to recover the democracy. The discussion was addressed, among others, by BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Barrister Haider Ali, Secretary General of Bangladesh NAP M Golam Mostofa Bhuiyan and Presidium member of NDP Manjur Hossain Esha.

Progatishil Garments Sramik Federation formed a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday with its president Razia Begum in the chair. In the programme the speakers demanded to fix Taka 15 thousand as minimum salary in the garments sector. The event was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the federation Kamrun Nahar, Organising Secretary Zebin Akhtar, leader of Garments Sramik Sangram Parishad Mokhlesur Rahman, Secretary General of Jatiya Manobadhikar Samity Monjur Hossain Isha and Convenor of Nagorik Parishad Mohammad Shamsuddin.

President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Mujahidul Islam Selim and Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed respectively in a statement on Thursday have expressed deep condolence over the death of member of the central committee of CPB and professor of Statistics Department of Rajshahi University Dr Mohammad Naser. They said the country has lost a distinguished person on his death. His death is an irreparable loss for the party, they added.
