Anthropology Relevance
Anthropology Relevance, a platform for young anthropology graduates of Bangladesh, led by former students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) distributed food items among one hundred families.The platform recently distributed these food items in four phases and selected the gift recipients through purposive and snow-ball sampling method to ensure religious and ethnic diversity. In the first phase, at the very beginning of the corona crisis in Bangladesh, food items were distributed among fifteen families of Pakuria, Taltek of Turag Thana of Dhaka district, Mymensingh and Jashore initiated by Anthropology Relevance. In the second phase, twenty Bengalis and ten Santals from thirty families in Dharmapur union of Biral upazila of Dinajpur district were given gifts of Tk. Five hundred each. Prior to this, in the third phase of the humanitarian initiative of Anthropology Relevance, necessary gift items have been distributed among twenty five families in Char Durgapur, Ramdevpur and Bahir Shimul areas of Sadar Upazila of Tangail District.
