Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society
Professor Dr M Nazrul Islam, an eminent phaco and glaucoma specialist of the country has been elected executive board member and Bangladesh representative in the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society. The election of the society took place on the 13th-15th instant in its fourth conference held in the South Korean city of Bussan. Professor Prin Rojanapongpun of Thailand and Professor SK Fang of Malaysia have been elected President and Secretary General of the society respectively. Prof Nazrul, an Adviser and former President of the Bangladesh Glaucoma Society joined the conference as an invited guest and presented six scientific papers on the diagnosis of glaucoma, a silent killer of eye. He is the President of Bangladesh Eye Care Society, Vice-President of Bangladesh Cataract and Refractive Society and Chairman of Jashore Community Eye Hospital and Jashore Eye and Laser Center.
