Bangabandhu Academy
A discussion in memory of late Awami League leader Abdul Jalil organized by Bangabandhu Academy was held on Thursday at Bir Uttam Khwaza Nizamuddin auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city’s Segunbagicha on his first death anniversary.
Speakers at a discussion paid rich tributes to former General Secretary of Awami League and one of the organisers of the war of liberation Abdul Jalil saying as an efficient politician of ideologies, he worked for changing the people’s lot throughout his long political career.
The speakers said Abdul Jalil was a soft-spoken and distinguished personality and in his rich political life he never came up with any statement that could cause people’s sufferings. They said attendance of a huge numbers of people from all shades of opinions in his namaj-e-janaza bore the testimony to the facts that late Abdul Jalil was a leader of the masses.
Adviser of Bangabandhu Academy Chitta Ranjan Das presided over the memorial meeting. It was addressed, among others, by AL central leader Sujit Roy Nandi, Dhaka City AL vice-president Faezuddin Miah, Samyabadi Dal leader Haroon Chowdhury and Dhaka City unit president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Meer Hossain Akhter.
