Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal
A rally organised by Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Monday. In the rally the speakers demanded to reduce rail fare. The rally was addressed, among others, by leaders of the organisation Manosh Nandi, Ujjal Roy, Zahirul Islam and Fakhruddin Kabir Atik. The speakers also demanded to recover the land of railway occupied illegally, modernisation and extension of railway and stop corruption in the railway sector. After the rally, a procession was brought out to press home its demands.
Islamic Varsity Theater
The Islamic Varsity Theater (Bithi), a cultural organisation of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will stage a drama named ‘Ora Kadam Ali’ directed by the eminent dramatist Mamunur Rashid on February 10.It will be conducted by its president Emad Uddin Khan around 10 am at the university central auditorium. The ticket is available at the theater office. The participants could enjoy the drama by the fee of Tk 20. Emad Uddin Khan, president of the theater said we are working to increase the cultural activities and entertainment of the students for educational purpose. As part of it, we have already prepared to stage the drama tomorrow, he added.
