Onus on youth for SDGs, corruption-free society: TIB

Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has urged youths to come forward to build a country with good governance and accountability without compromising with any corruption and irregularity.
Local chapter of the Berlin-based anti-graft agency came up with call at a workshop at its
conference room in the capital, marking the International Youth Day 2017.
Speaking at the event on Thursday, TIB executive director Dr Iftekharuzzaman said youths along with other stakeholders can play a strong role towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
“I hope that youths will play an active role in achieving SDGs, particularly SDG-16,” he said
Iftekhar asked policymakers and other stakeholders to involve youths in anti-corruption movement and governance work plans and implementation of these plans to achieve the SDGs.
About 67 students of Dhaka University, who are members of TIB’s YES Group, participated in the workshop.
TIB adviser Dr Sumaiya Khair, its outreach and its director (outreach and communication) Rezwan-ul-Alam, among others, spoke at the workshop.
