A court in Dhaka on Monday placed Mehzabin Islam Moon’s husband Shafiqul Islam, 40, on a three-day remand in the case filed for killing three people in the capital’s Kadamtoli area.
Magistrate Shahidul Islam of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order.
Earlier, Jakir Hossain, Inspector of Kadamtoli Police Station produced the accused Shafiqul Islam in the court seeking seven days’ remand. He married Mehzabin in 2016.
On June 19, police recovered the bodies of Mehzabin’s parents and younger sister from the first floor of a six-storey building on Lalmiah Sarker Road in the capital’s Kadamtali area.
The victims are: Masud Rana, 50, father of Mehzabin, Mousumi Islam, 45, mother of Mehzabin and her sister Jannatul, 20.
According to the police, Mehzabin also threatened to kill her husband and child if police did not come to the spot quickly.
Later, Shafiqul Islam, who was also sedated and his daughter Marjan Tabassum Triptia, 6, were admitted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier, on Sunday, Mehzabin was placed on a four-day remand in the case.
Later, Shakhawat Hossain, brother of the deceased Masud Rana, filed the case with Kadamtali Police Station, accusing Mehjabin and her husband Shafiqul Islam.
