One held while attempting to sell LMG bullets

A youth was arrested by the police at Kalibari Intersection area in Dumuria upazila of Khulna District on Monday noon while he was attempting to sell 830 rounds of Light Machine Gun (LMG) to an old Irons’ shop at KG rate.
The arrestee was identified as Sohel Rana, 25, son of Abdul Jabbar, resident of village Thukra under the same upazila in the district.
Sojeeb Khan, additional superintendent of police (ASP), Circle – B of Khulna district said, acting on a secret information, policemen of Dumuria police station raided at the Bhangari shop ( Old Iron’s shop) of one Shahidul at Kalibari Intersection and arrested Sohel Rana along with 803 rounds of LMG bullets. He went there with a view to sell the bullets at KG rate by wrapping them in a sack.
Among the bullets 790 rounds are of LMG and the rest 13 rounds are of China Rifle, 87 rounds of the bullets are invalid ones, according to police.
In the primary quiz, Sohel said, 15 days ago he went to Phulbarigate KUET area under Khanjahan Ali police station in Khulna city in order to dig soil while he found the bullets wrapped in a sack and thereafter he had gone to sell them to Shahidul’s old Iron’s shop .
Police said, drive is being done by the police at different places taking Sohel with a view to identify the source of motive and information are being taken about Sohel, police added.
