The classmates of slain Riad, teachers, family members and villagers formed a human chain on Sunday demanding arrest of the accused, who killed school student Riad brutally in the broad day light labeling him as thief at Gafargaon under Mymensingh district. At that time, the speakers said, Riad’s family is afflicted with grief, the sky has been filled with he sorrows, and the tears of the dumb mother, brothers and sisters. What a cruelty it was that none gave him, even a drop of water though he was thirsty and cried for water repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Gafargaon Thana Police arrested businessman Kaijim Uddin (55) from Ghagra Tower Mor Bazar on the charge of killing Riad. He has been sent to jail.
A Human chain was formed in front of Ghagra Uthuri Chhipan High School on the Gafargaon-Maijbari Road on Saturday noon. Abdur Razzak Mondol, President of the managing committee of Uthuri Junior High School, Headmaster Mir Abdus Samad of Ghagra-Uthuri- Chhipan High school, teacher Mir Musharaf Hussain, teache Maksuda Khatun, Local UP member Abdus Subhan Kal Mea and Abdul Aziz Babul spoke on the occasion and demanded justice.
OC Abdul Ahad Khan of Gafargaon Thana said, efforts are on to arrest the culprits.
Sources said that Riad was killed at Ghagra Tower Mor Bazar of Gafargaon, Mymensingh on Thursday Morning.
Riad was clubbed for one hour and 45 minutes. After this death at 7 am, the killers stopped beating him, but did not flee from the spot.
He was the student of Ghagra -Uthuri- Chhipan High school and son of an expatriate.
