N'ganj 7-murder trial from Feb 25: Nur, ex-RAB men among 35 indicted

A Narayanganj court has framed charges against 35 people, including former city councillor Nur Hossain and three former RAB officials, in two cases filed over the sensational seven-murder in the town.
The court of Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge Enayet Hossain handed down the order in presence of 23 accused on Monday.
The court has fixed February 25 to begin the trial, said Additional Public Prosecutor KM Fazlur Rahman adding that the 23 accused will be produced before the court during hearing while rest 12 accused are on the run.
 The 35 accused are Nur Hossain, former RAB officials Lt Col (retd) Tarek Sayed Mohammad, MM Rana, Major Arif Hossain, SI Purnendu Bala, ASI Bazlur Rahman and Abul Kalam Azad, Habildar Emdadul Haque and Nasir Uddin, Constable Shihab Uddin and Babul Hasan, Arif Hossain, Lance Naik Hira Mia, Belal Hossain, Lance Corporal Ruhul Amin, soldier Abu Toiyob, Nuruzzaman Nur, Nur Hossain’s aide Mortuza Zaman Churchill, Ali Mohammad, Mizanur Rahman Dipu, Raham Ali, Abul Bashar, Selim, Shahjahan and Sanaullah Sana, Jamal Uddin, RAB Corporal Latifur Rahman, soldier Mohiuddin Munshi and Al Amin Sharif, Abdul Ali and Tajul Islam, Sergeant Enamul Kabir, ASI Kamal Hossain and constable Habibur Rahman.
On April, 27 last year, seven people including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker were abducted the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road.
Their bodies were later found floating on the Shitalakkhya river.
