North Zone suffer batting jolt on day 3

Despite Mushfiqur Rahim’s polish unbeaten century, BCB North Zone did not come out of troubled water as they were reeling at 286 for 7 in their first innings in reply to a Walton Central Zone’s massive first innings total on the third day of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Thursday at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
North Zone still trailed by 243 runs and with three wickets in hand.
North one resumed their first innings on the third day at overnight score at 0 for no loss and scored 286 for 7 at stumps.
Mushfiqur Rahim remain unbeaten with a magnificent 101-run off 199-ball laced with seven boundaries and one over boundary. Earlier in the order, Nazmul Hossain (45) and Mizanur Rahman (32) departed from the crease adding 72-run for the second wicket stand.
Mushfiq was also involved in an important 83-run sixth wicket stand with Ariful Hauque who chipped in with an useful 42. The dimunative wicket keeper remained unbeaten along with Taijul Islam who stood with 21 as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Ebadat Hossain was the pick of Central Zone bowler as he claimed three East Zone’s wickets conceding 58 runs. He was well supported by Mosharraf Hossain who took two for 53.
Earlier, Central Zone scored a massive first innings total of 529 runs.
