BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah on Friday alleged that the government is alluring some ‘deserter leaders of few parties in the alliance’ with posts and positions in their
nefarious bid to split the BNP-led 20 party alliance. But, no conspiracy will succeed to split the BNP-led alliance with such isolated party leaders, he said at a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club. The discussion, titled ‘Conspiracy against Zia family: Duty of patriotic citizens’, was arranged by Dhaner Shish Samarthak Forum.
The BNP leader said: “Khaleda Zia, even the Prime Minister, can be arrested if found guilty of any crime. But such decision of arrest will come from the court. How can a Prime Minister issue threat from a party meeting about Khaleda Zia’s arrest?”
