JL- BCL factional clash leaves two hurt in Jessore

At least two Juba League men were wounded in a clash between two front organizations of the ruling party Awami League- Awami Juba League and Bangladesh Chhatra League at Keshabpur upazila headquarters area over factional feud on Friday night. Mahtab Uddin, officer in -charge, Keshabpur police station told that Shahiduzzaman Shahin, joint secretary, upazila unit Juba League and JL man Biplob Shingha Mukti were hurt in an attack over factional feud of the ruling party. Party sources said the two came under terrorist attack while they were talking with each other at a club at night. BCL men led by Azizur Rahman, joint secretary, upazila unit Chhatra League carried out the attack over internal feud. The residence of Ebadat Siddiqui Bipul, joint secretary, upazila unit Awami League came under attack in reply to the attack on JL men. No case was lodged and none was arrested in this regard.

Tk10 lakh heroin seized in Adamdighi

Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized Tk. worth 10.10 lakh heroin from Bogra-Naogaon high way under Adamdighi upazila of Bogra recently. The arrested were identified as Masud Rana alias Masud, 30, son of Masder Ali Hasispur Kasimuddinpar village under sadar upazila of Chapainawabgonj district and Shameem Hossain,24, son of Dulal Hossain Baktapur Lal mosquepara village under sadar upazila of Naogaon district. Police sources said on a tip-off a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them with tk worth. 10 lakh heroin. Officer -in-charge of Adamdighi police station said a case was lodge with police station act on drug control law. Later they have been sent to Bogra jail custody on Saturday.

Two electrocuted in Gournadi of Barisal

Two died of electrocution by torn electricity supply wires of illegal side-connection fell on road at Uttar Chandsi Bangila village in Gournadi of Barisal on Thursday night.
The victims were identified as Thandu Bepari alias Thandu Karikar, 40, and Sonajul Haoladar, 31, a tempo driver of the village. Sajjad Hossain, Gournadi police station officer in charge, acknowledging the facts said police visiting the spot recovered dead bodies and sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical college Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police quoting family sources said Thandu Bepari went to collect grass for feeding domestic animals on Thursday afternoon and became missing. After searching his electrocuted dead body was found touching with torn electricity wire by the side of betel-leaf plantation of Bappi Sardar and informed police. Hearing the news when nasimon (locally assembled tempo) driver Sonajul rushed to visit the spot, then he also severely injured by electrocution by that torn-wire and declared as dead by the attending physician after rushed to upazila health complex on early Friday, police sources added.

Drug trader arrested with 250 pieces of yaba

A drug trader named Baschu Sardar (26) was arrested by the RAB-6 from the bus terminal area of Bagerhat district town along with 250 pieces of Yaba on Suday night. He is the son of one Sarwar Sardar of village Kachubunia under Morrel;ganj Upazila in the district. It is learnt from RA6 leader Abul Kalam that acting on a secret information they (RAB) raided the bus terminal area and arrested Baschu Sardar and recovered 250 pieces Yaba tablets after searching his body. He was handed over to the police of Bagerhat Model PS.

Man held for ‘killing wife’ in Jhenidah

Police arrested a man in connection with the murder of his wife from New Court Para in the district town on Sunday night.The arrestee was identified as Mizanur Rahman, son of Didar Box, a resident of Goatoli village in Chougacha upazila of Jessore district. He used to live in New Court Para of Jhenidah town. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Biplob Kumar Nath said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Mizanur at about 10:00 pm.Mizanur was arrested in connection with the killing of his wife, the OC added. Earlier on Friday night, police recovered the body of Mina Begum, wife of Mizanur from her house.

Snakebite kills schoolgirl in Magura

A schoolgirl died from snakebite in Bazaarpara area under Sreepur upazila of the district last night.
The victim was identified as Rizia, 7, daughter of Badan Biswas and a student of class I in local Government Primary School. Family sources said, a poisonous snake bit Rizia while she was sleeping at her room at midnight.
Before being taken to hospital Rizia died at her house.
