BAU’s research progress workshop begins

The three day -long annual research progress workshop theme ‘ Sustainable and resilient Agriculture: The Path of better Future ‘ was held virtually at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Friday. Some 16 researchers were awarded with the Global Research Impact Recognition Award-2022. In addition, Ashraf Ali Khan SmritiKrishi Puraskar-2022 has been distributed to 4 farm-level entrepreneurs. A total of 19 technical sessions will be held in the workshop. It will present the results of a total of 463 research projects. More than two hundred teachers, researchers and participants were connected online on the occasion. Prof Dr. Shamsul Alam, State Minister, Ministry of Planning, Government of the people’s republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the annual workshop as the Chief Guest on research progress of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) under the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES).
Workshop on dev urban food system held

A stakeholder identification workshop was held on the development of urban food system under the “Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE)” Project at RDRS Auditorium on Thursday under the auspices of Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture Bangladesh in collaboration with Switch Agency for Development Co-operation. Rangpur City Corporation Focal Person Nice Project, Chief Revenue Officer and Secretary (A: D) Umme Fatima presided over the workshop. Person Senior Coordinator (Agriculture & Environment) Md. Mamunur Rashid of Syngenta Foundation and RDRS, Md. Shahinur Islam, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture Programme Leader. The project manager, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture Moshfekul Alam Talukder, gave a presentation of the project activities under the direction of NICE Project Coordinator, Khandaker Farzan Ahmed. Agriculture Officer of Sadar Upazila Krishibid Tania Khatun, Pirgachha Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Saiful Alam, City Market Committee Office Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin, Safe Food Officer Siriv Chandra Bamarna spoke on the occasion.
