Hindu community celebrated the Holi festival in a befitting manner in Bagerhat district town on Monday. On the occasion members of the Hindu community, mainly the youths and children in large number went out of their houses and sprinkled coloured water on friends and relatives. They were in festive mood throughout the festival. A good number of youths of the Muslim community also participated in the Holi festival.
Woman held with hemp in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a woman with one kg of hemp from Amnura area in Sadar upazila last night. The arrested woman was identified as Babita Khatun, 25, wife of M Abdul Moyej Prodhan, a resident of Chinapara village under Tanore upazila of Rajshahi district. On a tip-off, an operation team of RAB-5 conducted a raid in the area and arrested Babita with the hemp from an animal market, a RAB official said. Later she was handed over to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station.

The first anniversary of the Adhunik Hospital at Gafargaon was observed on Sunday. The hospital authority arranged a Milad Mahfil and Doa marking the first anniversary. Upazila Chairman Asraf Uddin Badal, Pouro Mayor S M Ikbal Hussain Sumon, Additional Police Super Ali Haider Chowdhuri of Gafargaon Circle, Adv Dr. K. M. Ehan chairman of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee were present in the function.
One held with drugs in Kishoreganj

Member of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested one person with 37kg hemp, 20 yaba tabled from the district recently. The arrested was Md. Kamrul Islam Kazol (45), son of Late Akram Ali of village Chandibar under Bhairab upazila of the district. Deputy Director (Acting) of RAB- 14 (CPC- 2) Chondon Debnath said, RAB members raided Nagua area under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila and arrested him with 37kg hemp, 20 yaba tablet 2 fake note. A case under Narcotics Control Acts was field with Kishoreganj Model Police Station.
