Drug trader held with 692 bottles of phensidyl in Singra

A drug trader Toufik Mia (23) was arrested with 692 bottles of phensidyl in Singra Upazila under Natore district on Saturday. Toufik Mia was a son of Tarikul Islam of the village Ponrorsia of Shibgang thana under Chapainababgang district. On a secret information, Rapid Action Battalion-5(RAB) led by Natore Company CommanderASP Md Razibul Ahsan raided and arrested him red handed with 692 bottles of phensidyl from Bagnagarkandi area of Singra upazila. He was waiting there for selling those phensidyl.
Saplings distributed in Rangpur
RANGPUR: Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) on Saturday launched its month-long tree plantation program in the city aimed at creating a green nature to improve environment and bring balance in the ecosystem. RpMP Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud inaugurated the program with distribution of 1,000 saplings of fruit bearing, wood yielding and medicinal plants at a function held on a school ground in Ward No-14 of the city as the chief guest. Rangpur Metropolitan Community Policing Committee is extending assistance to RpMP in distributing the tree saplings among the city dwellers. Assistant Commissioner (Kotwali Zone) of RpMP Jamir Uddin, Member-secretary of Kotwali Thana unit of Rangpur Metropolitan Community Policing Committee Abdul Kader Didar and Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana of RpMP Abdur Rashid were present, reports BSS.
Arms `trader’ arrested in Jashore

Detective Branch of the police has arrested a suspected arms trader along with arms, bullet and illegal drugs from Mahishadanga village under Sharsha upazila in Jashore. Maruf Ahmed, officer in-charge, Detective Branch, Jashore told newsmen at a press briefing at 4pm on Friday that they arrested Solaiman Dhabak during arms and drug trading at Mahishadanga village at around 6am on the day. The DB recovered a pistol, a magazine, two rounds of bullets, 300 bottles of Phensedyl and 120 pieces of Yaba pills. The DB could be able to arrest the miscreant along with the arms and drugs. Two others, however, managed to flee away.
One held with 1kg gold
Border Guard Bangladesh personnel, in a raid, arrested a youth along with one kilogram of gold worth Tk 45,20,000 from Gatipara frontier under Benapole port police station at around 11:20pm on Thursday. The arrested is Kamal Hossain, 35, of Daulatpur village under Benapole port police station. Lieutenant Colonel Selim Reza, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told that being informed by the battalion’s own intelligence, the BGB men made the arrest while he was going to India along with the gold bars.
