 SI, 3 constables closed in Bagerhat

One SI of police and two police constables of Fakirhat PS in Bagerhat district were closed on Wednesday on the charge of negligence of duty and leaking out the secret information. On the day while Nizamul Haq Molla, Police Super of Bagerhat visited Fakirhat PS found the authenticity of the allegations against them and directed them to be closed. The accused members of police are SI Najmul Hossain and police constables Mohsin Ahmed and Jahangir Hossain.

Two BCL men held in Sylhet

Moglabazar police detained two leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for in the Sylhet district on Saturday night in Alampur area Dakshinsurma. Police arrested Nazrul Islam Son of Norul Islam Patanpara area and Foyal Ahmed Son of Nizam Uddin under Goainghat Upazilla of the City unit BCL, Officer-in-charge of Moglabazar said police detained two leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for in the Sylhet district on Saturday night in Alampur area Dakshinsurma. Investigations were taken up by the local police station and later handed over to the court.

Eye camp held

A daylong free eye camp was held on Iqbal Ahmed Academy Moglabazr Union in Dakshin Surma Upazila on Saturday.Zoytun wellfaire Tust non-government organisations organised the camp.A team of seven doctors, led by BNSB branch of Moulovi Bazar provided treatment among the patients. Over 1100 eye patients were provided health services in the daylong camp. Earlier, a simple function was held to inaugurate the camp at the conference room of the Iqbal Ahmed Academy. Dakshin Surma Upazila Chairman Md. Abu Jahid, Moulovibazar BNSB secratary Yahya Muzahid, Dakshin Surma Pressclub President Jahangir Alam Musik, Md. Mohibur Rahman, Shahin Ahmed also spoke inaugurate function.

Int’l agricultural tech fair kicks off in Jessore

The first ever-international agricultural technology fair for promoting awareness and sharing knowledge among farmers and relevant stakeholders was inaugurated at Munshi Meherullah Maidan on Tuesday. Agro-Input Retailers’ Network (AIRN) arranged the fair being supported by the USAID Agro-Inputs Project in Bangladesh.Anwar Faruque, additional secretary, Ministry of Agriculture kicked off the fair as the chief guest in presence guest of honour Md. Nasir Uddin Khan, Additional Director, Department of Agriculture Extension, special guest Dr.MdHumayun Kabir, Deputy Commissioner, Jessore. Mark Treacy, Chief of Party, USAID Agro Inputs Project was also present at the opening session of the fair. The two -day fair will be continued till December 4. 90 nationals and internal companies in the fair set up a total of 103 stalls. The stalls were displaying their quality seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, aquaculture feed and technologies, animal husbandry feed and technologies, agro-tech machineries etc.. Besides, during the fair 2 days seminars have been organized on ‘Our Green Future: Environmentally Sound, Quality Agro-Inputs for Enhanced Food Production’.

Motorcyclist killed in Jamalpur road mishap

An honours student was killed and another was critically injured when a truck hit a motorcycle on Melandah- Islampur road in Melandaha upazila in the district on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Billal Hossain,23 son of Abdul Malek at village Chakdaha Charpara in Melandah upazila and also a second year honours student of Bangla Department at Government Ahek Mahmud College, Jamalpur. According to police, Billal Hossain was going Dewanganj by a motorcycle with his friend Tanvir Hassan Tapu from Melandah upazila at morning. When Billal Hossain who was driving the motorcycle reached Defola More area in the upazila a truck crushed them at about 7.30 am killing Billal Hossain on the spot.Lawmaker Jamalpur -2 constituency, Faridul Haque Khan Dulan who was passing the area at that time took critically injured Tanvir Hassan Tapu to Jamalpur General Hospital by his car.
