3 stores gutted in Satkhira fire

Three stores were gutted in the fire at Kazirhat Bazar in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira on Saturday. The fire originated from the electric shot circuit . The owner of the shop owner Nur Islam said that the people of the market informed him about the fire at his shop on Saturday. After getting the news, he made an immediate attempt to control and came to the stop to help the locals. Meanwhile, Abdur Razzak’s cotton factory and Monwar’s tea stalls were burnt to ashes in his shop. OC of Kalaroa Police Station, Biplob Kumar Nath confirmed the matter.
Kidnapped boy rescued

A team of RAB-13, Nilphamari rescued Md Raju, a 4 years old boy from Sarvasha village under Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari district on Monday. The victims are Mohammad Uddin Uddin (65), Son of late Ishaq Uddin, Mohammad Amjad Hossain (45), son of Mokbul Hossain, Md. Mostafijar Rahman (32), son of Md. Bohir Uddin, Md. Moshiur Rahman (23), Md. Bohir Uddin, all Sanga-South Chandan Sarvasha, Kishoreganj upazila under Nilphamari district were arrested. It is revealed that Md. Shahed Mia of Suryakona village under Gouripur thana of Mymensingh district resides in Tongi in Gazipur with his wife. Md. Shahed Mia is a color maker and his wife Monira Akhter is a garment worker. On 15March,18 the mother of Monir Aktar of the four year old son disappeared from Tongi Model Police Station on Tuesday. Later, mother of the colleague Md. Motalakim (32), Sang-South Chadkhana Sarvasha, Thana-Kishoreganj, district-Nilphamari said on the mobile phone that her son was kidnapped and to get her back one lakh Tk. will be given to the ransom, otherwise his son will be killed. Meanwhile, the mother of the deceased, Monira Akter filed a case in Tongi Model Police Station.
Preparations afoot to celebrate Independence Day in Rangpur
RANGPUR: The common people are ready to celebrate the great Independence and National Day-2018 through various colourful programmes amid huge festivity on Monday next.

Nilphamari road crash leaves one dead
NILPHAMARI: A human hauler driver was killed as a truck hit his vehicle on Domar-Dimla road at Tinbat village in Dimla Upazila on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem,55, of the village. Officer-in-charge of Dimla Police Station Moazzem Hossain said a goods-laden truck hit the human hauler around 8.30 am, leaving Kashem dead on the spot. A passenger of the human hauler was also injured. The truck driver fled the scene, reports UNB.
