FP Fair held in Kishoreganj

Family Planning Department arranged a 2 -day long Family Planning Fair- 2018 at Biam Labratory School premises on Saturday. ADC (Gen) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil attented as Chief Guest while Deputy Director Abu Taha Md. Enamur Rahman in the chair. Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman and District Awami League General Secretary Adv M.A. Afzol were attended as special guest. It was addressed among others by Deputy Director of Social Service Md. Kamruzzaman, Dr. Halima Akther, Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Family Planning Officer Nazrul Islam, Assistant Medical officer Dr. Kahalilur Rahman, Family Planning AMO Dr. Danesh Pondit. A colourful rally was brought out marking the Family Planning Fair led by Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman and D.D Family Planning Abu Taha Md. Enaur Rahman. At least 25 stalls were set up in the Fair.
‘Holi’ Festival celebrated in Bagerhat

Hindu community celebrated the Holi festival in a befitting manner in Bagerhat district town on Thursday. On the occasion, members of the Hindu community, mainly the youths and children in large number went out of their houses and sprinkled coloured water on friends and relatives. They were in festive mood throughout the festival. A good number of youths of the Muslim community also participated in the festival.
6 shops gutted in Satkhira fire

Six shops were gutted in fire in Satkhira on Saturday night . This incident took place at Pakpol intersection in the city . It is learnt that the fire was originated from the short circuit. Owners of Modern Enterprise Mashar Sabbir Hossain said that at 1pm on Saturday, we closed the shop and went home. Around midnight the night watchman came to know that a fire broke out in some shops along with him. Immediately after informing the Satkhira Fire Service, two units of fire service were able to control the fire for about an hour. In the meantime, five fruit-bearing shops, including their shops, were completely burnt down. It has lost nearly 20 lakh rupees, he said. OC of Sadar Police Station Maruf Ahmed confirmed the matter and said that 5 fruit shops and a cosmetic shop were completely burnt before the fire service was brought under fire control.
BGB recovers 2 mounds of hemp in Benapole

BGB personnel seized a total of 92 kilograms of hemp from Raghunathpur frontier under Benapole port police station at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday. Chasing a number of smugglers, BGB personnel seized the hemp worth Tk 3,22,000 in an abandoned condition. The hemp was brought from India, said Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion. A case was lodged with Benapole port police station in this regard.

The rally was brought out to make Sylhet City clean. Led by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Nazmanara Khanum, the rally was participated by Sylhet Divisional and district administrative officials, political leaders, people’s representatives, office bearers of professional bodies and members of civil societies.

At the end of the rally 12 pick-ups of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) on board 200 scouts/rover scouts paraded the main throughfares of Sylhet city. Earlier on Tuesday, the Divisional Commissioner held a news conference at Sylhet Circuit House depicting the rally’s publicity.
