France’s national electricity provider says a violent windstorm has left some 200,000 households without electricity across the country, including 30,000 in the Paris region.
The windstorm battered northern France Wednesday with winds reaching over 140 kilometers per hour. Photos of destroyed cars, collapsed scaffolding and uprooted trees have appeared across social media.
US airline cancels flight after ‘rat invasion’

A US domestic flight was forced to be canceled after a rat was spotted jumping into the aircraft, its passengers said on their Twitter accounts.
US Alaska Airlines Flight 915, which was scheduled for departure on Tuesday from Oakland, California to Portland, Washington, was canceled after passengers boarded the plane.
Norway suspends arms sales to UAE

Norway has suspended exports of weapons and ammunition to the United Arab Emirates over concerns they could be used in the war in Yemen, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
The UAE is part of a Saudi-led coalition formed in 2015 to fight the Iran-aligned Houthi group that controls most of northern Yemen and the capital Sanaa, in a war that has killed more than 10,000 people and displaced more than 3 million.
8 killed in road accident in Rajasthan

At least eight people have been killed and two others injured in a major road accident in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, police said Wednesday.
“The accident occurred when a tempo in which the victims were travelling collided head-on with a speeding truck in state capital Jaipur in the wee hours,” a senior police official said.
Explosion in Vietnam kills 2, injures 6

A big explosion occurred in Vietnam’s northern Bac Ninh province early Wednesday morning, killing two kids and injured six people, provincial authorities announced.
The accident at a house of a scrap collector in Van Mon commune, Yen Phong district also destroyed two houses.
