Two JMB members have been arrested by Charghat Model Thana police in Rajshahi on Tuesday night. With the assistance of DB police, Charghat Thana SI Shofiul Islam arrested him from Matuwara village Tarash, wife of Sworab and Saddak , son of late Afsar Ali Puthia Upazila on Tuesday night. OC Nibaran Chandhra Barman said , both are accused act of arms cases. However, a case has been filed with Puthia thana on 5 Nov 2016.
Blankets distributed among disable persons in Faridpur

Blanket has been distributed among three hundreds cold-hit people including 55 disable persons at Alipur area under sadar upazila in Faridpur district town on Monday afternoon
Khandakar Jabir Safi Dinar, director of “Manobatar Jagoran” aself-service organization distributed the blankets among the cold-hit and disable persons as chief guest. Among others self-servicer Mahmuda khanam, Parvin Akter, Nazma Akter, Surya Farhana Mou and Nadia Safi Dia were present on the occasion.
RDRS implementing the project in Rangpur

Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS), Bangladesh has been implementing the project titled ‘Securing employment and Economic Security around Jute Textile and Light Engineering Sector in North-West Bangladesh by technical and financial support of Practical Action Bangladesh since February 2017 in four districts -Rangpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat. In this connection the progress sharing (Kick Off) meeting 2017 is organized at Officer’s club, Gongachora, Rangpur at 11.00 am on 16 December 2017 aiming to orient about the project goal and objectives as well as progress and challenges. While the market for traditional jute product is decreasing, there is an increasing trend in the demand for jute diversified products. High quality jute fiber is required to capture the national and international market for such products. The event started by welcoming to the participants includes entrepreneurs, jute buyer, jute product retailer, workshop owner, farmer, youths and journalist. The event kicked off with presentations from Md. Rakibul Bahar, District Coordinator (Training & Knowledge Management), EC-PRISM project, RDRS Bangladesh. Md. Syed Enamul Kabir, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Gongachora, Rangpur was the chief guest where Khandaker Enamul Kabir, Upazila Youth Development Officer, Gongachora, Mr. Azizul Islam, Chairman of Gojoghanta Union, Gongachora and Mr. Rezaul Karim from Practical Action Bangladesh were special guest. The event was presided over Md. Abdullah Al-Mamun, Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO), Gongachora, Rangpur .
Jamaat leader held in Sirajganj
SIRAJGANJ: Police arrested a Jamaat leader from Dhamaikandi Bazaar area in Ullapara upazila on Monday night over sabotage charge. The arrestee was identified as Alauddin Al Azad, secretary of upazila Jamaat unit. He was accused in 17 sabotage cases.
Dewan Ashik, officer-in-charge of Ullapara Police Station, said that on secret information a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Azad around 8 pm, reports UNB.
