Hundreds of Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli soldiers Friday in the powderkeg West Bank city of Hebron on the anniversary of a 1994 massacre carried out by a far-right Jewish settler.
Soldiers fired tear gas and sound grenades to disperse the crowd as cannons doused them with stinking water, an AFP correspondent said. There was no report of injuries.
Jewish settlers, of whom 500 are entrenched in the centre of the city of around 200,000 Palestinians, hurled stones at the protesters who also pelted soldiers with stones.
Iran to buy 950 tonnes of uranium

Iran’s nuclear chief said Saturday that the country had asked to buy 950 tonnes of uranium concentrate from Kazakhstan over the next three years to help develop its civil reactor programme.
The request has been made to the body that oversees the nuclear deal signed between Iran and world powers in 2015.
Son of boxer Ali detained at Florida airport

A son of boxing legend Muhammad Ali was held for questioning for two hours at a Florida airport upon returning from Jamaica because of his Arabic-sounding name, US media reported.
Muhammad Ali Jr., 44, who was born in Philadelphia and has a US passport, was traveling with his mother Khalilah Camacho-Ali, the late sports icon’s second wife, friend and lawyer Chris Mancini told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
3 dead in Gaza-Egypt smuggling tunnel

Palestinian authorities say three workers have died after inhaling toxic gas in a smuggling tunnel beneath Gaza’s border with Egypt.
The Interior Ministry says the three were working to repair the tunnel a day after the Egyptian military blew it up.
The bodies were recovered Saturday and sent to a hospital in the town of Rafah.
