In presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the newly- appointed Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Armed Forces Division (AFD) Lt General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, rcds, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD was adorned with the rank badge of Major General by Security Adviser to the Prime Minister Maj Gen Tarique Ahmed Siddique (Retd) and Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Mohammed Nizamuddin Ahmed at Ganabhaban yesterday (Tuesday), says an ISPR release
During the ceremony Military Secretary to the Prime Minister Maj Gen Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin, Director General of Special Security Force Maj Gen Sheikh Mohammad Aman Hasan and Director Generals of Armed Forces Division were also present. Later, in the afternoon the newly appointed Principal Staff Officer called on President at Bangabhaban.
Mentionable Lt Gen Md Mahfuzur Rahman took over the office of Armed Forces Division as newly appointed Principal Staff Officer on 01 February 2016. Prior to joining AFD as PSO he served as the Adjutant General at Army Headquarters.His predecessor Lieutenant General Md Mainul Islam, OSP, BGBM, awc, psc went on retirement on 31 January 2016.
Lt Gen Md Mahfuzur Rahman was born on first December 1961. His home district is Jhenaidah.
