New Cabinet Secretary meets President

Newly appointed Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam paid a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday.
Congratulating Anwarul on being appointed to the highest post of the civil service, the President said the role of civil service is very important in socio-economic development.
He expressed the hope that the civil servants will work for the welfare of the people with a service-oriented mentality under the leadership of the new cabinet secretary.
Abdul Hamid also hoped that they will be more active in implementing the development projects of the government.
The new cabinet secretary ought cooperation and direction from the President in discharging his duties.
Secretaries concerned to the President were present at the meeting.
Anwarul joined the post of cabinet secretary on October 28. Prior to his new assignment, he was working as the senior secretary in the Bridges Division.
He belongs to the BCS 1982(special) batch. He joined Bangladesh Civil Service in 1983 and worked in various capacities both at field and central levels.
