Chittagong Bureau :
Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed (Tazz),NDC, PSC, BN disclosed that New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) will start full operations within next 18 months.
He was speaking on the occasion of 127th founding anniversary of Chittagong Port on Friday.
He said that development projects were taken by CPA for the next five years.
He informed the newsmen that the capital dredging of the Karnaphuli River including the development of jetty facilities are being implemented by Malaysian Maritime & Dredging Corporation.
The Malaysian company failed to complete the work in time , Chittagong Port issued notice for canceling the contract .
Chairman also alleged that the Malaysian Company violated the terms and conditions of contract by handing over the sub-contract to a local firm.
The Port Chairman also informed that Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) was implemented and port operations were digitilized.
