The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Tuesday unanimously passed the Navy (Amendment) Bill-2016 brining necessary amendments to various clauses of the Navy (amendment) ordinances of 1976, 1977 and 1986 for making the law updated.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, also in charge of defense ministry in parliament, moved the bill in the House.
The bill also annulled the three ordinances-The Navy (Amendment) Ordinance-1976, Navy (Amendment) Ordinance-1977 and Navy (Amendment) Ordinance-1986.
Earlier, the bill was introduced in the House on April 26, 2016 and sent to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny and report back.
