Nasir Hossain, the Bangladeshi all-round sensation, expected the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be a turning point and bring his career to the right track.
Nasir said this after entering to have his first net session in eight months on Sunday (November 25). He was ruled out after tearing his right knee ligament after allegedly sustaining an injury while playing football in the month of April.
Following the injury, Nasir was sent to Australia by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in the month of June to undergo a surgery. But Nasir revealed that there was not just one surgery, but two more followed thereafter, the reason being he not only had one torn ligament, but he had torn two.
“I had three surgeries. To be honest, it was quite frightening as I did not face any major injury scare and all of a sudden I came to know that three surgeries will be required. Those days, after the operation when I had to walk with the help of crutches, was nothing short of a nightmare,” he told. While it was publicised in the Bangladeshi media that he had attained it while playing football, Nasir claimed that it occurred while running outside Dhaka after completing his stint in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
Nasir played for Abahani Limited in the last DPL, and a century in his last match helped his side clinch the title. It also showed signs of Nasir coming back to his usual best of forms. But the unfortunate injury that he had picked up meant all the possibilities of a national return was nipped in the bud.
“I was in form, as the last time I batted, I scored a hundred. I am a firm believer of destiny and I cannot change what is written on my fate. There is no use grumbling over the past because it cannot be brought back, so only way for me is to look forward.
