ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Railways, has been selected for the 2021 National Fisheries Award in recognition of his significant contribution to the fisheries sector. He will officially receive the award from the Speaker on August 29 next.
ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury implemented various initiatives to protect the banks of the Halda, including the release of fish fries to increase the fish breeding of the Halda River and its special contribution to the declaration of the Halda River as Bangabandhu Heritage. Besides, the Raozan upazila administration under his leadership formed a special team to protect the mother fish of Halda River and also conducted the operation against indiscriminate fishing in Halda.
