Barisal Correspondent. : Murdered dead bodies of a mother and her son were recovered from their residence at Christian community populated Uttar Dehegati Chirstian Para under Dehergati union of Babuganj upazila, about 26 kilometers from Barisal on Tuesday morning. Shah Alam, Babuganj police station in charge, said the victims were identified as Monika Mridha, 65, mother, and her son Sushil Mridha, 44, and police recovering the dead bodies at about 10:30 am Tuesday sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police and local sources said victims Monika and Sushil last seen alive at about 9:00 pm on Sunday night before went to sleep seeing news at television. On Tuesday morning a NGO worker went to collect loan installment found the home locked from outside and bad smell coming out from inside and their mobile phone calls were not replied. Then local people informed police and police breaking lock recovered the dead bodies, told Shanto Shikdar, a neighbour. There were chopping hit on neck and head of the son and mother and smashing signs on face of the mother and the murders were committed at least 30-35 hours before recovery of the dead bodies, police sources assumed. Primarily it was suspected that mentally imbalanced Samiron Mridha, another son of Monika, was liable for the double murder of his mother and brother as he became absconding since Sunday night. On Sunday morning family during the prayer at the local church also appealed for blessings from Almighty God for curing insanity of Samiron, local sources told. AKM Ehsan Ullah, district police superintendent, Ashok Kumar Nandi, circle inspector of police visited the spot.
