A mother and her daughter were killed in lightning in the Belenka village under Jawar union in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Asma Akhter (58) and Yasmin Akhter (38).
Asma’s husband Mujibur Rahman said the sky was overcast on Tuesday morning. Mujibur went out with his wife and daughter to work in the paddy field next to the house.
At this time the storm and rain started with thunder. His wife and daughter were injured in the lightning strike. After a while, both of them died.
The Officer -in -charge Mizanur Rahman said when they were working in the paddy field lighting struck them, injuring fatally. Hearing it, Tarail Thana OC (Investigation) visited the spot. The bodies of the mother and daughter were handed over to the family without an autopsy”, he said.
