Senior sports journalist Mostaq Ahmed died on Tuesday. He was 55.
He died of cardiac arrest. He played badminton at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. Suddenly he felt chest pain. At one point in the middle of the game, he fell to the ground. His teammates and the officials of Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) later took him to a hospital in the city. The doctor on duty declared him dead. He left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his death.
Mostaq Ahmed was a member of BSPA.
Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) and different organisations expressed deep shock at his death and stated consolation to the bereaved family.
