Md. Zulfikar Ali, Mayor of Mongla Port Pourashava in the district ceremonially announced a sum of Tk..117 cr. 37 lakh 31 thousand 2 hundred 87 as its proposed budget for the fiscal year of 2014-2015 in a function held in the Pourashava auditorium on Tuesday in presence of the councilors, journalists and the elites of the port town. In the function Md. Abu Taher Hawladar, Upazila Chairman of Mongla was present as the Chief Guest.
Poura Mayor Md. Zulfikar Ali said, in his budget speech, it is the highest amount of money sanctioned in the budget for the development of the port town. He also said, the port pourashava will be turned into a modern town if the proposed budget can be implemented in the true sense of the term. On the occasion Mongla Upazila Parishad Chairma Md. Abu Taher Hawladar, councilors Md. Babul Chowdhury, Imam Hoassain, Eunus Ali, Khorshedul Alam, Alauddin, M.A. Kader and others also spoke on the occasion.
