Miscreants severed both wrists of a youth mercilessly in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj at the instruction of a local Union Parishad Chairman on Thursday.
The incident took place at Ujilpur village of Shibganj Upazila around 2:00am on Thursday.
The victim identified as Rubel Ali, 28, son of one late Khoda Bux of the village. He is a local mango trader and Joint Secretary of Nayalabahnga Union JL unit
Victim’s family sources said that the relation between Rubel and UP Chairman Fayez Uddin was not good on account of Charpaka cattle shed near Shibganj border. As a sequel to that, his wrists were cut off.
According to the victim, when Chairman’s men caught me, I requested the chairman to save me. But he asked his goons to take me behind a local school and to cut my wrists. The miscreants did it without hesittion, he added.
After hearing the scream, my friends rushed to the spot and took me to the hospital.”
Locals alleged, Chairman Fayez Uddin is a rowdy man and involved with various crimes like Yaba trading.
Atiqul Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Shibganj Police Station told the media that police visited the spot in the morning. However, Investigation is on to unclothe the mystery behind the incident.
