Migratory birds’ shelter in Raozan’s Lashkar Dighi

A large dighi of Lashkar-e-Wazir was dug in Kadalpur Unsattarpara area of Pahartali under Raozan Thana during British rule. It is now known as Lashkar Dighi. Many people are coming to see the migratory birds flying from thousands of miles away in this tank of about three acres in size. The whole area is buzzing with the chirping of these birds.
Like every year, after the first week of November, flocks of migrants started coming here.
Every day from dawn to dusk, the surrounding area, including this dighi, is intoxicated by the chirping sound. In the morning the birds float in the water hiding their feathers. As soon as they see the sun in the sky, they match their wings.
Sitting on a tree branch on the bank of the lake, kept a sharp eye on the water. When they see small fish or insects coming up on the surface of the water, they immediately accepts the splash and takes possession of it.
 Such a scene catches everyone’s eye. It looks like a duck. The underside of the wing is black, Chest yellow.
The surface is reddish and black and white. The lips are gray and Red eyes. These migratory birds move in groups from one end of the lake to the other. The amazing view of the water splashing around in the rush of Pekham in the water is mind boggling.
The locals spend their time sitting on the banks of the Dighi in the afternoon to see this scene.
Supervisor Lokman said that fish is farmed in this tank. Migratory birds have been coming here for the last few years. Since then, the local administration has been keeping an eye on these migratory birds so that no one can disturb or hunt them. Some students occasionally throw stones to watch the birds fly.
Then the birds fly to the next hill. After eating there, he came back again. This time, however, the number of birds has decreased a lot compared to other years, caretaker Lokman told media men.
Local resident. Saiful said, ‘Every year the birds come to this lake in winter. If no one bothers, it lasts a long time. As winter approaches, these birds flies to their destinations.. In addition to Lashkar-e-Wazir’s dighi, migratory birds have flocked to the Noapara Kartar dighi in Raozan upazila, a local said.
