A teen aged mentally and intellectually disable boy while having bath at 2 pm on Wednesday along with his playmates in a canal at Purbo Koladi area in Matlab Dakhshin Upazila Sadar , went missing for long and was traced dead later, away from the spot in the same canal. Fire fighters and divers recovered him at 7 pm after frantic search for three hours.
The deceased boy was identified as Piyas Saha, 14, son of Chandona Rani Saha -a resident of Purbo Koladi area in Matlab Dakhshin Sadar town.
Family sources said, Piyas went to have bath along with other play mates at Jham Jham khal and went missing in the water body. All but he returned home.
Despite frantic search here and there, he remained untraced. Then his short pants and ganji were found at the ghat of the canal. Despite frantic search, he remained untraced in the canal too. Then a group of Matlab fire fighters and divers from Chandpur traced Piayas , away from the spot in the same khal and recovered him at around 7 pm-said fire man Hilaluddin of Matlab Fire Station.
