Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz is now the Number-2 bowler in ODI cricket, according to the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) ranking.
Miraz picked up four wickets in the space of 30 runs in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at the Sher-eBangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on May 23. He plucked three wickets at the cost of 28 runs in the second ODI at the same venue on May 25. The 24-year-old off-spinner has now 725 rating points. Left-arm pacer Trent Boult of New Zealand is now in the first position of ODI bowlers’ list, according to the latest ICC ranking with 735 rating points. Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman of Afghanistan is now in the third position with 708 rating points.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the third Bangladeshi, who can reach the second spot of the ODI bowlers’ list, according to the ICC ODI ranking. Earlier, left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak Raj of Bangladesh took the second spot in ODI bowlers’ list, according to the ICC ranking in 2010. Shakib Al Hasan has retained the top spot of ODI all-rounder for an era. He entered the top spot of the ODI all-rounder in ODI cricket in 2009. The left-arm all-rounder’s has 396 rating points now.
Meanwhile, ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman is now in the ninth spot of ODI bowlers’ list, according to the latest ICC ranking. He has 652 rating points.
The left-arm pacer grabbed three wickets at the cost of 34 runs in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at the ‘Home of Cricket’ on May 23. He bagged three wickets for 16 runs in the second ODI against the Islanders at the same venue on May 25.
