The owner of a drugstore was hacked to death by some miscreants at Sabujnagar in the district town on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Tariqul Islam, son of Abdul Kuddus of Khanjanpur area on the outskirts of the district town.
Quoting family members, police said Tariqul had a medicine shop near a local clinic in Amtoli area in the town.
Tariqul did not return home from his shop on Friday night though he had left around 10pm.
On Saturday morning, local people spotted the body of Tariqul in the area and informed police.
