Mashrafe hits record fastest ton in DPL

Speedster Mashrafe Mortaza wrote his name into the record books as he scored fastest century in List A cricket for Bangladesh against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah on Saturday.
The Narail express came out to bat in the 36th over to give his team Kalabagan Krira Chakara some much needed impetus, and before he was dismissed in the second last over of the innings, he mercilessly punished Sheikh Jamal bowlers all around the park hammering 104 runs in just 51 balls to steer Kalabagan to a massive total of 316 for 7 in 50 overs, after Sheikh Jamal captain Mahmudullah sent Kalabagan to bat first.
The breezy ton by the Narail express studded with 11 towering over boundaries and two boundaries, a record for the most number of sixes struck in an innings for Bangladesh in List A cricket. He reached his fifty in 35 balls with a four and four sixes.
The next fifty runs came only 15 deliveries that contained seven more sixes.
