The Marcel 1st Division Chess League will begin on November 21 from 11:00 am at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room. Bangladesh Chess Federation will organize the chess competition under auspices of Marcel.
The press briefing of the event was held at the Bangahbandhu National Stadium conference room on Wednesday.
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, First Senior Additional Director of Walton Group, KM Sahhidullah, Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Vice-President of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Gazi Shayiful Tarique, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Morsalin Ahmed Joint-Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation and Secretary of the Tournament Committee, Rabiul Hasan Sumon, Assistant Director of Walton Group spoke at the press briefing.
A total of 10 teams will take part in the competition. They are: Fire Service & Civil Defence Sports Club, Access Chess Club, Basir Memorial Chess Club, Debadas Biswas Smirity Sangsad, Mohakhali Pradip Sangha, Farashganj Sporting Club, Protiva Daba Goshti, Destiny, Mir Chess Club and Agrani Bank Limited Daba Dal.
Fire Service & Civil Defence Sports Club, Access Chess Club relegated from Premier Division Chess League while Mir Chess Club, Agrani Bank Limited Daba Dal promoted from Second Division Chess League.
The event will be held on round robin league system. Top two teams from the league will get tickets for the Premier Division Chess League of 2016 and bottom two teams will be relegated in the Second Division Chess League. The number draw of the participating teams will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at Bangladesh Chess Federation.
