Veteran coach Shafiqul Islam Manik has been given the charge as the new head coach of Bangladesh Premier League champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club for the upcoming season.
In this regard, a signing ceremony was held Tuesday at the head office of the club in city’s Gulshan area. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club president Manjur Kader formally handed over the agreement to Manik. The agreement will take effect over the next two years.
Sheikh Jamal Club directors Abdul Gaffar, Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan, football committee’s chairman Ashrafuddin Ahmed Cunnu, club manager Anwarul Karoim Helal, among others, were present on the occasion.
With the domestic season still a month away, Sheikh Jamal begins their season on February 23 when they play away to Singapore ‘outfit’ Tampines Rovers in AFC Cup 2016.
