A man was killed in an attack by a herd of wild elephants at Kadukhola village in Sadar upazila early Friday. The deceased was identified as Sirajul Islam,50, a resident of the area.
Union parishad member Abbas Uddin said a herd of 10/15 elephants came down from the hill and started damaging standing crops in the area of the village.
When locals tried to drive out the elephants, they attacked them at about 5.00am.
At one stage, an elephant attacked Sirajul and trampled him to death.
