A man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife in the city’s Hazaribagh area on Monday night.
The couple was identified as Russell, 25, and his wife Ifat, 22.
Police and local said, Russell and Ifat had been living in a rented house at Gojmahal Road of Hazaribagh since they got married a few months back.
They locked into an altercation over a family feud in the evening. At one stage, Russell stabbed his wife indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot.
Later, he committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of their room.
Officer-in-Charge of Hazaribagh Police Station Moinul Islam said they recovered the bodies around 9pm and sent those to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
